A landscape format. There is lots of art online, and in galleries. Go shopping with other resident(s) of house as you all have to look at it. Take a picture of the room with you. If budget is tight you can make your own art. You can take lessons, or there are instructions for easy artworks to do online. Lastly, look through your own and other's photographs for one to blow up. Processors could do it in sepia for you. Do landscape format.

Large art in some more vibrant color and move new art down to about 8" above the sofa. I would add pillows to brighten the sofa too.

A mirror would also work since it would reflect the outdoors/window area. Make sure it is large enough, hung low enough and maybe have a darker frame around it. Rectangle??

I do like those pictures and hope you have another spot chosen for them in your home. They would even look nice stacked instead of side by side.

I actually like what you have, but it needs to be lower and a bit closer together. A van Gogh or Monet would look nice though, too.

FTR, landscape format refers to a horizontal orientation; a vertical orientation is called portrait format. They don't have to actually be landscapes or portraits.

You could simply reframe what you have with larger/thicker frames. Unless you're sick of what you have?

I would do a country house painting. It would compliment the tans and reds that you have there.

Here are some ideas I had. I think the room needs a punch, either through colour or with a dramatic mirror.

1)Personal photos...varying sizes in uniform frames in sepia tone

No mirror unless you have something beautiful or interesting you want to double - that's what mirrors do. Large art, framed and hung about 5" above the sofa back. The two you have might do well stacked vertically somewhere else.

i found a great large original piece of art on etsy! it fits perfectly over my sofa. my art was shipped from the artist in Canada and is beautiful. there is so much variety.

Your prints are a bit under scaled for the wall and are hung too high above the sofa. I recommend that you find a large scaled mirror, painting or print and hang it over the sofa.
Move your existing pair of prints to the wall at he end of your sofa but stacked vertically one over the other and eventually look for an other end table to place below. I also recommend that you angle the solid colored green pillows in the corners of the sofa and layer the patterned pillows in front of those. Eliminate the red pillow leaving the middle back of the sofa exposed or use the lumbar pillow the same color as the sofa (shown in another image). If you cannot find and image that really resonates with you at this time then a large scaled mirror over the sofa is a good solution. You can always move the mirror to another wall in the house if you find the perfect art piece down the line.

Wanted to add that I agree with oneofeleven -- buy art you like, not because it matches. Art is for display! P.S. -- love your rug

While the room well thought out, I could see a some beautiful dark framed artwork above the sofa. Nothing over extravagant, just some transitional themed images that pull the beige, burgundy and greens together in your room.

Wow! All great suggestions. I am actually trying out prints from a decorating store tomorrow. I'll post some pictures when they arrive. We have two new end tables coming soon, I'll post pictures of the whole room then. The sofa and two other pieces in room are new. Trying to adjust to the colors. I love the idea of a mirror...
