Modernize it by removing the ornate mirror and the valance on the window ,then change the wall colour to a light one like this one for example

I'd also change your valence to a set if white wooden blinds.

I just liked the horizontal the blinds would give...1. Added texture and 2. Continuing lines of shower tile pattern.

Paint the walls an exciting red! Brown and red are an excellent way to update the room.
Paint first, then see how wooden blinds looks...awecome!

You need light in there. It's a small space. Dark colors would be claustrophobic.

Hi, Cleanlady1 I would like to see a painted cabinet in white for the vanity and a stone/granite counter top pulling colors from the tile in the shower. Brass is making a comeback and mixing metals is also in vogue especially. I know you like plums how about doing the vanity wall in plum and the rest of the walls in a deeper cream. I consider maybe using a vessel sink to up date the bath over all that would really make a statement. Not clear glass but a white china like the toilet. I think shutters on the window would look great too.

Welcome back Kevin, so missed you. Had a interior decorator come in to help out. She chose Legend Tan (Glidden), and countertop laminate, Milano quartz. She is looking into window covering and accessories. Because of the color of the tiles and tiles in the shower, I am really limited to the colors on the walls. I do like the plum idea though. I will mention this to her. Even though there is a window in the room, there is limited light from it and the window is glazed. Let me know what you think so far.

The mirror she suggested doing the same as you suggested for the dining room light. Oily bronze color.

Is this a main floor guest/family bath ? A venetian mirror would be more formal and pricey but the room could use some wow... If this is a main guest bath. The oiled bronze would work nice to with the brass. Sounds like everything is coming together. I do like doing something unexpected in a bathroom. Like buffet lamp on the vanity. Or a small chair. For accessories to, stay away from the "bathroom" look. K
