I think you might go with a sage green color so it brightens the entry but doesn't punch you in the face. I would also suggest creating planting beds to soften the hard lines of your sidewalk. It's hard to tell without seeing the whole yard. I would bring it all the way around and over (near you flowers in the baskets). I might also plant another tree to mirror the other planting bed.

Is it possible to replace the door with one that has glass? It would give a more inviting feel. And then maybe paint it a plum or teal color. Not too dark as your door is recessed. Definitely need to add some landscape/ color in the front bed and move the tree out of that area to the front yard. Bring the buckets of flowers on either side of the garage door and add a pot with a taller plant and flowers by the front column. Maybe a trellis with a jasmine vine the the left of the door or a metal decorative gate.

The pic is bad. I have a sidelight next to the door. It is a 42" door so I am limited with options. I purchased a standard four panel without glass.

Not sure of your climate, but once you decided on the color, have your door painted at your local body shop for a professional finish.
