I'm looking at purchasing a basic interior design software package, but do not want to spend a lot of money on something that is either very time consuming to learn, or doesn't have the functionality I need. All I really want it for at this time to play with design ideas for a media room and would like to be able to paste in placeholders for TVs, actual posters/paintings, and (if possible) have a multi-colored carpet as my wife and I want to design a "House Divided" room with a Michigan-OSU theme. I looked up reviews for various programs and they all have pro-cons, but if any of you have a recommendation for something I'm all ears. We may use it for additional ideas in other rooms in the house, but we will NOT use it to fully design a house, and probably never use it for landscaping either.
