Shannon Ggem Design (pronounced Gem) is an award-winning, full-service Los Angeles Interior Design Firm specializing in the renovation/new build and full furnish of homes. I create and update flow and make homes feel special, personal and functional. Skype and in-person consults, small works packages and full service available. I bring a tranquil, serene aesthetic that is adaptive to client tastes and preferences, and rooted deeply in my expertise, education, and experience. Personalization of older homes is what will increase their longevity. -and- to undo remodel sins of the past and restore flow to houses! -and- to add finishes and craftsmanship to plain houses with discerning clients. -and- to make commercial spaces feel right, with flow and serenity. My life’s work is to enhance the quality of daily life by connecting people to their spaces. WHO ARE MY CLIENTS I specialize in designing for nice people. Clients don't have time to learn and undertake the complicated process of remodeling, new build or furnishing a home. Most of my clients have dogs, many have kids, all have busy lives. Most of my clients live in Malibu, Beverly Hills, Woodland Hills, Pacific Palisades, Silverlake, Los Feliz, Hollywood Hills, Laurel Canyon, Sherman Oaks, Tarzana, Santa Monica. ALL THE THINGS I won a very prestigious national award (and others as well but this was a biggie), the Custom Builder Adaptive ReUse award. There was a fancy gala in DC and my mom and dad met me there! I've been published in National publications; I had big spreads in Cottages & Bungalows & Bohemian Home-blog press like Apartment Therapy, Domaine, Today. com and those great social media viral moments, too. I've designed important showhouses, Pasadena Showcase House and the Wattles Mansion. I was honored to be included in updating Ronald McDonald House Los Angeles. I designed a family suite and studio for immunosuppressed child patients and their families. It was a beautiful experience. I am an expert in my field and speak at industry events. I have a background in entertainment, I love video and photos.
