I am in need of your ideas! I bought this amazing antique bed which was delivered just in time for the holidays. It is supposed to fit a standard full mattress with a box spring...the only problem is, it doesn't! The way the bed is built, the posts take up about 2" of space that is needed for the mattress on each end, making a standard double mattress too big...which also means every standard box spring or platform I try will just not squeeze in. Everything is about 1" too big to actually fit. If I could, I would just build my own frame for the mattress I already have, but living in a city apartment, I don't really have the space to do that. Does anyone have any ideas for where to buy a mattress foundation that will fit? I love this bed, I just want to be able to actually use it and finally put my guest room together!
