Anyone with a Wolf convection oven?

Trying to decide wether I should get a Wolf with 2 fans or a Kitchen Aid with 1 fan. Have never had a convection oven. Wolf $1000 more for the 2 fans with computer console.

Does either oven let you turn off the fan and make it a convention oven?

Yes, they both have that option. The Wolf has a very fancy computer console, almost like a recipe book, but I worry about fixing problems with that later. That's also why it's so much more expensive. I realize that a double fan cooks a little faster and browns evenly, but how much faster would I need it since I've never experienced it before.

Dacor makes wonderful convection ovens. They are spacious and the convection mode is great. Have you considered that brand? If you really want to decide between Wolf and KitchenAid, I would do some research on consumer rating sites like consumer research, consumer reports and epinions. They will give you the best information regarding quality and repair history.

One thing to check out very carefully is certified repair men for both units. In the past three months I have known 3 different people who have had problems about getting their appliances repaired by certified repair men. My sister bought a different brand cooktop, the store she bought from said they could service it, she found out they were not certified and idiots. My friend has drawer refrigerator/freezer, not even 2years old and the display stopped working. Everything is staying cold, but her ice maker doesn't work. She is having problems getting it service because she is outside their service area. If they are under warranty and someone who is not certified touches it, the warranty or extended warranty can become void.
Convection ovens are great. Things cook quicker, but some times you may need to lower the temperature. Or if you are cooking a prime rib or large roast, where you cook the low (lower temp) and slow, you may not want to use convention oven or it could dry it out.
My neighbor has convection oven but does not know how to use it. They cook a lot of frozen foods. He will cook them the same as convention oven and food comes out burnt and dry or burnt around the edges and not cooked in the middle.
Most new cookbooks should have directions for convection ovens. If the don't, check on the cooking websites.
I am with you, anything with computers or LED displays, are just one more thing that can go wrong.
Good luck with which ever you chose.

Hate my new wolf convection oven E series. I can not bake anything in it!
