I have heard of a cement coating for floors. It turns out very shinny and is easy to take care of. This tile is so brittle that I really can't see trying to lift and replace it. I have about 6 cracked tiles and an area about 30"wide by 15 deep that doesn't have any tile. A new floor of wood meets the tile at two of the entrances, the third entrance had plywood without tile. I don't think I would like wood flooring in the kitchen but I may eventually do that. I can't do anything right now because my husband isn't working.
