The nightstands will be at least a couple inches wider and deeper

White night stands is the right direction...width and depth are important, but most concerned with height...should be to somewhere around top of mattress for light to really work.

I think it will look very nice once you get your new nightstands :)

Why do you not move the bed to the right? It already looks jammed. With wider nightstand, it will not look good.

Yes, the lamps are great in your room. It looks like you have room to side the bed over at least 12 to 15 inches. Give it a try and show another picture, please. Also it would help to show the closet area in relation to the bed.

the drapery looks (overall) teal. chair green, then the linens are Delft. Lamps are good with the bedding, fine with the drapery.... but something needs to happen in or around the bed to tie the greens to that pale blue. can you do pillows to bring it all together??

I would replace the small pictures over the bed with on large piece of art.

There are too many little, busy patterns in the room:

lamps, chair, drapes, even the bedspread.

Colors do look off (but maybe my monitor). Wall looks yellow….could that be right?

Agree with eighpondfarm. You are getting close. Bring in some more of the soft green with a single pillow, a throw over the bed. Even a houseplant sitting on the floor next to the bed.

This little chart might help, but I'm more concerned about the two different heights for your drapery rods. Can that issue be remedied?

Maybe address that with some cornice boxes.

Thanks everyone- the green chair is actually temporary- will be moved. This may help it look less cluttered. New baby on the way so needed to do some rearranging! I will post a pic with the closet for reference.

That chair looks like a comfy one for the nursery. But let hubby do all the furniture moving!

can you try removing the drapes and removing the rod (just to take a look at the room without the drapes) The busyness of the drapes is competing with the bedding...perhaps you can find a neutral drape that lets the bedding and accent chair take center stage. Also, can you move your bed and nightstand to the right about a foot? Then you can focus on moving the artwork.

Just a thought, if you cannot move bed over, due to closet, I wonder if you would consider a headboard with lights and storage in it.

As I mentioned above, situation will never look good with one nightstand in front of window.

Also, have to say again, way too many little patterns going on.

CRdesign makes a very good point about too many patterns.

I like the pattern and color of the chair with the drapes. If they both stay in your room, I think a solid light olive bedding would look good on your bed.


Or if chair and curtains reused in another room (nursery?), then a simple solid curtain with your current bedding.

With your drapes I am thinking this sort of green on the bed. If you add a pillow with some blue I think you'll be close to done.
