backsplash height?

What is the height on the backsplash around the sink and to the sides of the large slab? It looks shorter than the typical 4"

When I can, I like to do a 2 1/2" to 3" backsplash. I like the sleekness of it and its a dimension my fabricators can generally work with. (They don't like cutting shorter than 2 1/2" as it might crack.)

We originally wanted to do marble up the walls but i was unable to find the quantity in the specific order of slabs we selected. We have enough for behind the range, and we also considered using a 1x8 or 1x6 handmade subway tile but I'm just not in love with the idea of using tile. They typical 4" backsplash is starting to look cheesy to me and what you have done here still looks slick so I'm thinking this might be our solution. Thanks for your help!

Your welcome. Sometimes I do the 2 1/2" and then add something on top like acid etched mirror (or tile).
