Finishing up a room

Can I get some help to finish the bookshelf in my daughters room. I am thinking that I need some more color or I could just be over thinking. If needed I can attach pictures of room or can the bookshelf stand alone.

I did not pick it the polls did and I even went and look to see if I would maybe think of moving until I saw the weather.

I am going shopping for the hibiscus and crotons today. Not sure if I will be able to get the other plants but will try.

You'll love the color and how friendly croton plants are. They survived our freeze too.

Margo's suggestion of painting her bulletin board would be nice too. Here is a lousy photo shop of repurposing a frame (minus the white!) Just another option. Maybe even include it within her wall grouping too?

Looks good Sherri but was thinking of adding another to fill out the wall. Can you show me what two will look like and where to place them.
Sheri-here is Lulu on the foyer table.
Margo it's been a longtime since we have chatted, hope all is well.

Angela, I Like the bulletin board but agree with Margo that it would look fantastic with some black paint on the frame.

Yes, I remember now, you mentioning another BB. She likes it there keep it there and may be more sufficient for use opposed to disturbing the art gallery collectives. :)
Still looking at Nelson Mandela needing more presence? Somehow is getting lost in the thin frame perhaps? That one art piece you considered above her bed is awesome!
Don't do as I do and start nailing or push pinning your walls. Hah!

There is a creative repurposing project that may be of interest IF your daughter has quotes she would like to decoupage within a frame for NM photo.

Trust me Lulu is never forgotten and she actually knows how to knock the door so that she can come inside the house. She is an indoor/outside cat.

    Corner frames! :0
I already have to many holes on the current wall. LOL and yes I think that Nelson's frame is a bit thin compare to the others.
Oh wow those are cute, where would I put those.
Angela the garden will be lovely, you are so fortune to be in an area where you can garden in Febuary. I can't wait for spring and the start of the gardening season!
Margo I did get mirrors in the bedroom! Not the ones I originally wanted, they were still on back order in January and I canceled the order.

Margaret, I'd love to see an "after" pic of your bedroom when it's done! Have you added the wood floors to the areas you had planned yet?

Ann, I am still working on the bedroom, just not happy with it yet.
I should probably post an update on my bedroom thread.

So before I paint the other board black as suggested I remembered that there was a suggestion to a second board but go vertical. Should I go higher or more to the right?
I think I'd go about 3 more inches to the right and, in this case, I'd put the heavier/wider one on the bottom. I like the amount of space between the boards as you have it in pictures one and two. I know you are just trying a different board in pics 3 and 4, but those look a bit too close together.

Sorry I didn't comment earlier - I didn't realize you had added a comment. It seems this discussion only pops up in my feed when it gets heavy traffic - which is totally confusing to me.

Ann, I thought I was the only one that got confused with some of these heavy traffic threads.
Army ~ answer to your above placement of activity boards should remain as to the height of your daughter's "activity". Too low ? Too high? Where is the middle ground she would like it to be? Hah ~ reminds me of the marketing strategic BUY ME placements of retail. LOVE the black board. Wouldn't put it too far over to bother that beautiful headboard frame. :)
Post your garden photos when you can. I am enjoying your progress reports. Now, to my own rooms ~~~~~ filled with processing projects ~~~~~.

Thanks guys and removed the garden pictures because I did not want too much confusion but I will. Sher-the black board I got at Micheals with my coupon so it was pretty cheap. Was looking for a chalk board but they did not have one.
So it should be the height that she can get to it?
3 more inch to the right?
Keep the spacing as one or two?
    Black board on top?

Hanging Bulletin Board idea....what about 13 inches from the ceiling? And maybe even another bulletin board underneath matching. Reason why I suggest this is because my daughter's BB during her college days was a 48 length x 24 width . Repurposed canvas of mine and personalized with scrap booking ( framing inside diameter) and hung approximately this way from ceiling. Ideal for push pinning. And still as durable as cork too.

I finally ended up making my kitchen/hallway door a chalkboard and make it a monthly x-lg calendar. Best thing yet. I assumed it would hit me each morning but I usually just close it not to have it staring at me! hahha Now, to do what I write on it is another story!

    Here are some better ones.
So you think that I can add a third one?
If it were me, I think I would just go with two and the black one/widest one on the bottom for this pair of two.
Wow, what pretty gardens! I know you didn't ask, but in the garden in front of the wood fence, I think I'd angle the sideways turned pot a bit so you aren't looking directly into it but rather looking kind of into it and kind of at the side of it.
The pot is just there because I am waiting for them to stock the one plant that is suppose to go there. It is just holding the spot. Thanks and it was a lot of work.
