Black hardwood and bianco Carrara porcelain tile

We are trying to combine a white marble porcelain tile on the first floor with the black hardwood on second. The first floor is a open floor plan, approximately 1800 sqft. My significant other think these combination is too cold. Any ideas of how to bring warm into this space but still keep the modern and slick look. The tile is rectified and is 24x24. We plan to use a 1/16 grout line

You might consider adding a bit of "warmth" to the wood component by using a LIGHTLY hand-scraped finish style. This approach would actually soften the appearance as well as make it more durable. My opinion is that if you use the tile as well as wood in ALL smooth surfaces... the overall look wood be too stark and look cold.
Below is a parquet pattern indicating my suggestion... of course this style can be used for plank.

Definitely not from everyone, but I can see that combination working in spaces you have. Use a dark/medium brown color for the flooring so the contrast isn't too "harsh".

Great fabrics, special pieces of furniture like this black spool chair, and artwork will make it all work. An area rug here and there would still be sleek and add a bit of warmth.

Black hardwood may looks more like m
man made materials rather than natural wood and it will be very hard to maintain .
Dark brown may be better rather than black .
