I don't know if they have to match or not, but what I can tell you is that it's YOUR bedroom--it can be whatever you want it to be, or what you can afford it to be. Do yourself a favor, and don't become a slave to fashion or design rules to the extent that you can't even have your own private space without feeling you're doing something wrong.

Agree with Haley. However, my advice is to experiment. For ease symmetry usually works. However it is a guideline as mismatching can also be very effective. Try out the looks you are exploring before committing.
