This was my childhood home. My sisters and I have fixed it up, and tried to respect the era it was built in, while updating it. Bathroom was a complete gut job. After years of neglect, the only thing we could salvage was the bathtub. The kitchen was also a mess, but we managed to salvage the original pickled birch cabinets. We cleaned them up and put new flooring and counter tops on, and decided to do retro reno here, which may not appeal to the vast majority of people, but we thought it might be cute. We used new versions of the old materials, like new linoleum and aluminum trims on the counters. Colors are updated versions of the original. My parents bought this house new and my oldest sister remembers how it looked back then.
