#1 looks like the bottom support system would entangle your legs, and #2 looks top heavy and like it might tip over with you. Keep looking!

Do the cost plus stools spin? It looks like a spinning stool would be of use in that great room. You could spin to face any number of conversation/seating areas. I really like the ones recommended by @karen paul interiors. They also have someplace for your feet to rest, which I've found is really important to my back health.

dasha's red stool would keep it open and airy and it comes in black if that's what you are looking for. I do very much like the red accent in an area where you have so much black.

I decided to get these and see how they look....I can always return, right? Hubby and the kids love them...my oldest is already sitting at the island for meals. Lol. The stool is very sturdy and surprisingly comfortable but I don't know if I'm entirely sold on them. Thoughts?

To keep or not to keep? The husband really likes them...says they're unique. They're comfortable but they look like bugs...lol.

Inevitably, they will bump into each other, and if the finish isn't really thick, they'll scratch up. We have stools with black leather tops and wood legs that match cabinetry. Is that an option?
