The only yellow you'll find in my home is a tub of "I can't believe it's Not Butter" in my fridge. I think yellow is a wonderful, happy color in other people's homes and wardrobes. The closest I come is a warm mustard/gold on the base of an old bridge lamp in my living room.

Right now I don't have any yellow in my home, but I'm redecorating a beach house, and I'm making the living room gray and yellow with some turquoise. i'm glad yellow is in style right now!

My LR accents are yellow, gray and white and the DR chairs are the same shade of yellow/gold as the pillows. The DR has some turquoise accents. too. I have had the gray couch for 30 years and keep updating it with different color pillows. Back in the day it saw mauve pillows, another year, peach pillows , this year yellow pillows. I love changing the pillows and accessorizes while all my furniture/walls stay neutral.

I love mustard yellow. Especially vintage pieces. I think It brings warmth, brightness and a happy feeling to any area.

I am not a big user of yellow in my home. I really had to walk around and look for it. besides a bunch of bananas (too obvious). I do have a sweet little oil painting by Johanna Obeck of a Goldfinch. They are actually yellow. I like it because it reminds me of the Goldfinches and other birds at the feeder in our yard

I have my Pumpkin armchair in yellow next to the orange sectional, which also has a yellow throw. I should have some photos in one of my dilemmas. Also, the walls are a yellow color, with some gray in it , but it is yellow

Yellow is one of my favorite color and when I first bought my house my kitchen was painted yellow. SMH, orange has taken over and the only yellow I have are towels.

I have a chest in the DR that is black. Not anything fancy. Bought it at a garage sale. I am thinking about painting it yellow but then I chicken out because what if in two years, I hate yellow.

@tennisanyone - if you hate the yellow in two years, you can paint it black again. It's a new year. Be bold. Paint it yellow! And then post a photo for us.

Joanne, did you see my LR picture above. How much to too much? I would just have to find the right shade of yellow/gold. You are right, I can always repaint it.

Printesa, I love your Ligne Roset chairs (I wanted a Togo for the media room, but was outvoted!)

The only yellow I could find (if you exclude my cereal box) is the (rather misshapen) chaise-lounge in the Paris flat. It's a sling back chaise and it's been thoroughly abused by my other half and would probably be replaced or re-upholster soon (note to self: do something about the wires next time you are there).

The entire core of my house is painted a soft butter yellow. We live in the Pacific Northwest where it's normally pretty gray; the yellow is very cheery!

Luciana, I have a Togo corner chair in the kids' room. I got it in orange. I believe they had it in the store as well (Alcantara fabric). It's very comfy. For media room it would work great. I wanted to get the Moel armchair, but my other half did not agree with it:)

I'm suddenly in love with yellow, even though 3/4 of my house has been painted in shades of gold for years. I'm about to redo my kitchen in gray, cream, and yellows.

I'm really hard pressed to find yellow. My cottage is beachy with white and blue. This what I found! Notice the little yellow bumblebee painted on the fruit bowl!

I painted part of the cabinet yellow, hated it, painted it back to black. Maybe I'll look for yellow base lamps since I really want yellow. I had to try it. Thought you would enjoy seeing it.

Only yellow is lemons. I like to see others homes with yellow but it isn't a colour I look to decorate with.

Yikes, tennisanyone! I'm sorry it didn't work out. I still think it would be stunning in a bright yellow, but the yellow lamps would be pretty, too.

It's pretty out there for me chook! I'm usually into monochromatic schemes with nothing too loud. But I'm taking a leap with this room! I can always shut the door ;)

Thanks pgwagoner. I love those colors this year. As you can see from my LR above, I keep the furniture neutral so I can change my mind on pillows anytime and believe me, that couch has seen many colors over the years. I would have always been wondering what that chest would look like in yellow. 2014 is a year of "just do it".

Try an inexpensive, sisal rug from West Elm to soften and complete the look.
