What good is this when most questions are ignored?

Paint colors, wallpaper sources, etc. So many questions and most remain unanswered. Very disappointing.

Agree with Studio. Most questions are answered. Also the more specific the query giving details and photos the more likely Houzzers are willing and able to help.

@bobbie99, did you mean pros often don't answer specific source questions in photos section? it can be frustrating but sometimes other houzzers will pop in with good guesses or suggestions.

Houzz is generally used for inspiration. Many times a picture is posted by someone like a photographer or by someone that participated in a limited way in the project. They may have no clue what all the items are. Some people answer questions about the pictures they post and others do not. Houzz leaves it up to the individual. Based on how old a picture is, products might not be available now anyway.

Yes, that is exactly what I was saying. People ask for paint colors and no answer is given. That is what I'd most like to know.

Color is very dependent on context. Even if you know the exact paint used, it will look different in your room than you see in the photo on your computer monitor. Between the technology used, the room lighting, the other colors and textures in a space, the size of the space and lots of other aspects, you might be very disappointed if you tried to replicate a detail instead of analyzing why a space appeals to you

Yes, I know. It's a good starting point, however. I'm not here to debate, just wanted to air my disappointment at how many questions are asked and not answered. Lovely site otherwise.

bobbie99-Do you post in other or Design Dilemma. I think that sometimes it is time of day.

A note to others (and to myself as well). After pressing on "discussions" you can select "new" from the "filter by activity" box. This will give you a lot of questions that have yet to be answered. Check it out

"Other" discussions are often quite "slow" with only a few suggestions here and there. The main "Discussions" page is far more active with many people chiming in. There are two ways to get an answer:
    1) Interesting title - an odd title/question will get more people to notice
    2) PHOTOS!!! I rarely "open" a post that does not have a photo in the avatar box. If I see a photo AND a neat question or phrase, I open it. Even if it has NOTHING to do with flooring, I'm always interested in other peoples design concepts.

I have noticed one question will get 500 responses and a question with the same title will get 3. :) always makes me wonder why.

It helps to get email prompts on your own discussions. People like the OP to be present, say thankyou and be involved.

bobbie99, are you saying that in general or did this happened to you? If it has happened to you, then there is an explanation: I went to your page and the only dilemma you have posted is this one. So maybe you think you have posted a question about color but the dilemma did not appear on Houzz so no one could have seen your question.
