I have a hall with dark 12" grouted tile, in muted shades of dark and light gray and brown.It sort of looks like slate. My walls are a very light beige and everything is trimmed in white. There are 6 doors in the hall, 3 leading to bedrooms, 1 to linen closet, 1 to a bath and one to foyer, leading to formal living and dining room. These are cheap hollow doors and I can't afford to replace them. There is nothing in the hall except a long skinny sofa type table and lots of art work. I am thinking of painting all the doors either in black, charcoal or even a light calming blue. Does this sound absolutely tacky? It's a dark long hall and even though I had beautiful artwork, I think it needs something to make it more dramatic looking. All ideas are welcome.
