Should we remove the shutters or replace them with board and batten?

We are preparing to place our home on the market. We have noticed many houses do not have shutters. The houses that do have shutters in our area have board and batten shutters. We are wondering if our shutters date the style of our home.

not at all? they are quite adorable.
maybe try painting them a contrasting color to your brick.

Typically, shutters that are not properly fitted (half of the size of your windows) nor have functioning capabilities tend to take away from ones exterior. In this instance, it does not appear that there is enough room for properly fitted shutters.

As far as dating your home, we don't believe the louvered shutters have that effect. If you feel as though they may and you want to replace them with Board and Battens, we have an application on our website called 'Shutter Snapshot', that will allow you to see your home with different style shutters installed before the actual installation. You can submit this photo, choose Board and Battens and the color, and we will render a photo for you with the shutters on the home. The link below will take you to our application.
