ceiling paint color

Almost all the pics of designer ceilings are painted the same white as crown moulding. I don't like white ceilings and prefer to paint 20% of wall color 'greige' as my ceiling color. Why do designers all do their ceilings the exact same as each other?

I wouldn't say all but some reasons it's safe it's classic it goes with most everything it also depends on the home not all homes look good with color in the ceiling

I feel a little less frustrated after visiting BM blog post with colored ceiling design ideas. l will post before and after pics when complete

It's difficult to tell from a photo, but I used Edgecomb gray as wall color and 20% edgecomb as ceiling color. The effect is a pleasing, soft transition.
