Thank you for your inquiry. The glass wall is a partition to the master bedroom. Light bounces through (not noise) and both spaces are visually opened up.
The floors are acid stained concrete with radiant floor heat. Very comfy.
The challenge in this particular design was to separate the living room from the kitchen, but keep it visually open. Thus the two sided fireplace. There's even a mini bar on the left side of the fireplace facing the dining area.
