The one you said would be universally approved is it the one that looks like tiger skin with salmon tone? Usually should the granite contrast with the cabinets or the wall?

I'm a little confused ... white cabinets and a light beige porcelain backsplash - is this correct?

Why is the dark brown porcelain in your picture?

Yes, that's the one. It's similar to what most people are choosing these days. (Which could be a plus or a minus, depending on your point of view.) The granite could contrast with either the walls or the cabinets, depending on how much wall is showing, for one thing. But since the cabinets will be white, pretty much any granite that isn't almost white will contrast with them. The reason I focused on a contrast with the wall is that you posted a picture of the wall. And I do think that the white cabinets with the beige wall is a fairly quiet look, so with that combination, you want to add some pop with the granite.

Indianpatti- the first picture is the wall of my kitchen, i wanted to get advised on what granite color would match perfectly with the wall.
As for the white cabinets, i haven t bought them yet but i am considering it. Thanks

Based on wall tile alone, I also go with the right granite in the second photo.

I would choose a very dark granite with light colored specks/streaks in it ... don't see a stone like that pictured here.

Forced to choose only between these, I would pick the black granite, bottom picture in the middle.

I am adding more pictures of the kitchen.. The first picture shows the tiles that i m using in all the kitchen walls and also the floor.As this porcelain tile can be used in both floor and wall.
In the second picture, I used a ceramic stone like tile, i used it just in One wall.

So for the overall 80 percent of the kitchen, i used the same color (three walls and the floor) and in the 20 percent I used the stone like tile in one wall to contrast with it.
Now this being more clear , which granite countertop would look great in the kitchen.
if you have also other pictures, i would gladly like to have a look at them.

Any of the three builder's grade slabs on the second photo group/ bottom, would work well. The pattern definition in your wall is too obvious, so you may want a "tame" granite in a pretty color.

It looks like the 80 percent wall is darker than the beige wall. If it's as dark as it looks in the picture, then the speckled granite might not give you any pop, although it looks like the colors would look ok together. I'd recommend the two on the left of the third pic. Black is going to be more striking and more popular, but if you like the peach color, you'll have something more individual to your taste.

So you said 80 percent is dark. But I m wondering is this beige dark. I am adding a picture of the tile.

It s exactly against the wall with the beige tile.

If you like the beige look here is what I had to do to my kitchen. I have before and after photos. I wasn’t crazy about the color of the cabinets when we first moved in but I loved the quality of them so we had to do some thinking to get everything to work. If I may make a suggestion though, when you are picking your granite take a bottle of water with you! If you see one you like pour a little on it! See if it absorbs the water. If it does say clear of that one lol. If your kitchen is like mine it’s the heart of the house and always something going on. Food going drinks going, the whole lot. I managed to get (by complete accident) granite that was more crystalline in nature and when things spill on it, they are not absorbed AT ALL! Where as in the guest bathroom that we just remodeled that granite is the polar opposite. Just my personal experiences as I went through the same process as you are.

So this exactly how my kitchen plan looks like, just that the wall against the stove , I used the dark stones. There is nothing in that wall.

Christopher, your kitchen is very pretty, and I love your granite. This could be too monotonous in tone if not for the black appliances. With stainless, I think it would be kind of boring. But as it is, it works very well.

Would you consider a dark cabinet vs white? I really feel like you need a cabinet choice before you choose a granite and is that a back splash or entire wall?

The beige is the backsplash and the dark stone is an entire wall.
I was thinking about white cabinets as I am following a decoration rule: 70 percent should be a dominant color,then 25 a second color and 5 percent would be accessories color. I read that in the decoration rule the white doesn t count as a color.
The goal is not to have too many colors but may be colors that are from the same family.

Thanks Linda! I’ve since made more updates cabinet and drawer pulls, but those are just some shots so Aichoucha can get an idea of the beige look, and how to make it work. Just have to find the right materials. Amy, I agree with you on this one select cabinet first. Those are going to be the bones so to speak. Aichoucha, have you thought about going with a dark brown wood cabinet? I think for the minimal amount of cabinetry you are wanting on top it will really provide a good anchor to the lower area and give you a direction to go with. I think right now you have too wide a path to choose a direction for granite work tops.

I would like to use the exact cabinet as in this picture. I like the white color i think it brings a lot of light in a room. I don t want everything to be dark in the kitchen
