Need help deciding what to do with new buffet!

I purchased this rehabbed buffet for my dining room because I LOVE it. However, I am unsure how to utilize the space below for storage since it has no drawers anymore. Totally lost on what to do!! Thanks : )

Display white kitchen wares or pottery? Or a combo of grays, blues, and white depending on your color scheme? Another option could be larger square baskets to hold out of season throws, napkins, dining table decor, etc. -- anything that needs stored nearby the dining room :) If you have small dogs you could make the bottom of the buffett a bed filled with pillows and charming chew toys -- but that may just be the dog lover in me...lol.

What about baskets or add a long shelve and a glass door.

What a gorgeous find! Depending on what you have you could place platters, pitchers, vases, etc., in there in a nice arrangement. The shelf idea is good also.

I really like the suggestion given above to add a shelf in. Once the shelf is in, you could fill with books. I really like turning dining areas into "libraries" -- its double purpose and just feels cozy :)

Wow! Never even thought of the shelf idea! I really love that for more storage with a combo of baskets! ....I absolutely love the idea of a buffet dog bed--but no small dogs here just a big one! I have cats, but something about cat hair associated with food grosses me out! lol

Well, I'm a crazy cat lady with multiple dogs and I'm not feeling the love for pet beds in the buffet! I think some large decorative pieces (like vases) or baskets as suggested above would be better than pet beds!

I would paint the inside a lighter color, use a glass shelf and install 2 small lights from the backside of the cabinet. This would lighten the area and create a unique spotlight for collected pieces.

Put a mirror on the back and bottom .. display glass items.
