Depending on the surrounding cabinets etc. I don't think they ever went out of style. The fact that they all match is the important design factor

Thank you. That's what I've always thought! I have black apps and don't want stainless steel ones. Can I paint my dark cabinets a creamy color. All the woodwork in that room and the house is stained and so are all the meny doors.

I think that your kitchen cabinets DO NOT have to match the other woodwork in your home. They are their own element. Hope that helps.

I didn't want the fingerprint cleanup with stainless, even tho I'm super contemporary. I have black glass oven, mircro and dishwasher, a black cooktop, with black flat refrigerator and love them. My cabinets are dark blackish-brown on the bottom and sleek flat modern white on top. It is stunning, get lots of compliments and so glad I don't have predictable stainless. By the way my counter is white ceasarstone.
