It seems to have more beige undertones.... I have it pared with Revere Pewter in my open concept home.

Edgecomb is a green-gray, but your monitor or device may not be rendering it true to color. The only way to know for sure is to paint it on poster board and bring it into your home. To compare, look at BM Collingwood, which has a violet undertone.

trebinje….i tried edge comb gray because it looks so pretty in the pics and it totally had purple undertones in my house

I've used Edgecomb Gray throughout my home and don't see a violet undertone at all. It's definitely a warm gray and looks beige at different times of the day. Personally, I love it. I call it a modern beige, not too warm not too cool.

marcnlisy, it could appear to have other tones because of your lighting and the surrounding materials in your home. That's why trebinje asked you to paint a poster board with the color and move it around the room. Lighting is really tricky.

We just painted edgecomb gray in in our laundry room (no natural light), powder room (no natural light) and front foyer (cathedral entrance with high ceilings and lots of natural light). The front foyer also will have a combination of hardwood and carpeted stairs and is still getting a lot of reflection from the old Georgian Brick paint in the adjacent living room. We are going to change that paint to a more neutral also. Edgecomb gray looks different in each space and throughout the day in the natural light. It also seems to "cure" over several days to settle the paint colour. I would suggest giving it a little time and putting in your own furniture, art and accessories before you give up on it. It's a very chameleon like paint, but I think we are going to really like it once everything is done.

Agree with Alicia's comment that Edgecomb Gray looks different in each space and throughout the day. This true for most paint colors. We just completed built in cabinets for kids storage and a desk. The cabinets and molding are painted Edgecomb Gray. I absolutely see violet undertones in the molding. The cabinets look fine and all the molding looks extremely different than the cabinets. You would think they were different colors until you take a piece of the mold and place it flat on the desk and than it matches cabinet color. Testimony to light affecting color! I don't know how to solve this problem. It's a huge commitment to have custom built in cabinets painted and see this challenge. Easier to repaint a room - as frustrating as it would be to repaint a room - it certainly is much easier. Choosing paint colors is challenging. As most know: test it, see it at different times of day and understand the undertones to each color - they will come out!

Does anyone have a suggestion for a slightly darker gray, beige, taupe to accent a house in Edgecomb gray?

Benjamin Moore Revere Pewter.

I used smoked oyster which is very similar to the edgecomb grey but a couple shades darker. They look really great in my house together. I think it is from BM also
