should I point the ceiling traditional white?

I have seen alot of pictures where it looks like the ceiling may be painted the same color as the walls (cream, light tan, soft beige) what do you think of this idea or should I stick with traditional white? does it work better in small rooms out larger rooms?

I'm in the middle of finishing my home remodel and I've painted the ceiling in our front room pale pink (apple blossom -ish). The walls and trim will (all soon be) offwhite, natural pine floor. Even my hub loves it. Just adds a little something, pink in daylight, blends in at night with lamps on. The ceiling is 265cm high by the way and the room is 4x4m.
