Suggestions for Wall decor above dining area console

I am not sure what would look best on the wall.. I am thinking either a large mirror, or artwork with 2 table lamps on either side? Your ideas are welcome!

I made some wreaths out of wine corks that would look cool there - one large and one small, off-set from each other. They feel festive without suggesting a particular holiday, and would blend beautifully with the light brown wood of your dining furniture. Add a big silver ice bucket and some beautiful stemware and you are all set to host a dinner party. A round, brushed silver mirror would also look good there. You could flank them with sconces (electric or with candles) in a metal that coordinates with the light over your table.

If you want to try something that doesn't cost move the tall beige vase on the cabinet over there and put some artistic foliage of some type in it.

Good idea thanks! Though I would really still like to put something on that wall, it is missing something. Hmm.

Move the slender ewer over there (without foliage, as they were designed for liquids) and lower the art you do have so its center is 60" above the floor.

Also, you should lower that picture. It's too high, ESP when you are seated.

I would also suggest you to make some inverted wine glass arrangement over that table which would make the ambience better when you lit a candle sometime. Buy some nice painting for the front wall and make the walls painted with some contrasting colors.

Would it work to take the wooden cabinet and put it on the short wall it is beside so the art can be alone on that wall?

Also, is it possible to turn the direction of the art maybe? Have it the long way on the wall instead?

Hmm, wouldn't hurt to consider another place for the cabinet. Anything is possible! For now though, I'd like to work on putting something for that blank wall above the console. Thanks!

Could you try the art you already have and place it on the console, tall way? Just to see if it is in proportion at all? Leave the tall candles beside it, so it might be off centered a bit. I think the background color of that art would look awesome with the console.

Abbyjean took the words right out of my mouth by suggesting moving the wooden cabinet to the short wall just beside it. As is, the wall with the art looks unbalanced due to the cabinet with nothing to balance it on the other side.

I agree with the art placement being too high. I'd suggest something round and metallic for artwork above the console table.
