Have you searched Etsy? Something with blue in it would be nice. A grouping of 3 prints?

I've searched! I just don't even know where to start! Like what kind of prints? Botanical?

Why not check out local artists and see if you can get one of them to do a large painting or a set of three paintings that work together. I always check out locals before spending money on prints. By the way you need larger lamps, those ones kind of look more suited to bedroom. Try to get away from all the matching color accessories and try out turquoise and orange or any 2 or 3 colors that you like in prints and solids, too matchy matchy always looks like a show room and not a home.

Look at allposter.com for some reasonably priced pieces in a wide range of subjects. I can see two posters with lots of color hung over your sofa. Will make a huge difference. , and

Thanks for the tips everyone! I just bought those lamps and I am not completely sold on it either but I was having trouble finding any larger ones that weren't 150.00 a piece or so. I am planning on adding more color and getting a different sofa- those pillows are from our old house and we have a 9 X 12 seagrass rug coming in that will help a lot I think!

All things considered, including everyone's great contributions, make sure you really enjoy the piece for what it is. Home decor changes or you move to a different house. If you really love a piece it will always find a place. Art is about imagination first, you can always create the space to compliment. Most of all have fun !

I second the suggestion to check out Etsy. I have had great luck finding original art that I love at extremely affordable prices!

A thought-in-progress, though I'm not sure I'm going to progress any further. You might. I'm wanting texture and depth on the wall, so I'm thinking about 24 rectangles of light plywood, upholstered in thin foam and fabrics you like. Mount them on a big board, which can show through (I'm fantasising a black one here). Hang big board.

The lamps -- oh dear, I like them, but I'm not sure they are right. In any case I think the left one should go and be replaced by a standing lamp in the bonsai corner (you do need the height). Alternatively, if one could find such a thing, a really special mobile hanging from the ceiling in that corner. But it looks as though you need the light there.

Yes I like that too! I don't know how yall are doing that but it is awesome and sure would help me find a piece of art I like, since I can visualize it. I found a really awesome painting of a cow and since we live in an old farm house in the country I thought it would be neat but I have gotten mixed reviews on it.

What reviews? Are you supposed to like it or the people who gave the reviews? This is YOUR home, YOUR taste, YOUR choice. Sorry, I'm screaming again.

Rina, you are right! But you start questioning your choice after you get so many opinions! I think I will go with I really like! I think I am going to try to find either glass or silver lamps- what do you think?

Where are you located. Try local first so that you can buy and return. This was what I did on mine.

And we are in South South GA in a tiny town that doesn't have very many options. So I keep having to go out of town to purchase but once I get it home I don't like it.

Both glass and silver could be gorgeous. Decide on your picture -- the cow, I hope -- and then either go with your gut or post it as another dilemma: Here is my picture, I love it and won't change it, should I have glass or silver lamps with it? Someone might recommend demolishing your house, but wot the hell. I love this community, even its crazies.

A few thoughts. As Rina said, it's your space, so you should feel confident enough in whatever you put up there to satisfy yourself first and foremost, considering you are the one looking at it and you are the one funding it. Secondly, there is lots of art out there to be had at reasonable prices, if you are willing to put in the time and effort to look, whether it be online (Etsy, eBay, Kijiji, etc) or in person (Salvation Army, garage sales, etc). Finally, don't put something up on the wall just for the sake of filling a space if it doesn't really speak to you. Better to look at the art of an empty wall and wait for the right piece instead of doing that.

Definitely check etsy I found a custom original painting for a very good price. But my advice is to know what style & size you are looking for and search for that, otherwise it can be overwhelming.
For example, I knew I wanted an abstract landscape piece. art is very personal, you really need to know what you like. I found Houzz great for helping me determine the best size and narrowing down choices, but in the end you have to love it. I am attaching a pic of the piece I bought on etsy to give you an idea of what you can get.
