Handles are some much easier to use, but knobs predominate in the U.S.

I love a good lever handle. I used them in my house on everything from my door handles to my faucets. I'm planning for the day when I'm old and arthritic.

I prefer handle, but I have knobs almost everywhere:( We are planning to change them because they are ugly also (gold color), but it will have to wait...the price for something decent and modern is pretty high..

We have the Emtek Cody lever handle in dark oil rubbed bronze throughout the home. All interior doors painted dark, dark brown (SW Caviar). DH picked this style out, he loves the 'heft'.

I've heard that in B.C. all new builds must have lever handles according to building code. True?

I don't mind either and it depends on the build and the style. It is true that knobs are much more difficult to use. I can open a lever door with my elbow.... not so easy (but highly calorific) trying to do the same with a knob

I like a handle, how it looks and how easy to use, as ASV says, with your elbow. The only thing I dont like about handles rare brass ones.

I much prefer a knob...I think they are actually easier to use and I don't get my clothes or purse caught in them like I always seem to do with levers

The knob is pretty but the handle is sturdy and can go with any design style.

I love this particular Knob because its an antique look and I remember my Grandmother. had those in her home.I always said I want them in my home ,unfortunately not this one

I love the knobs better but that said I have arthritis and the leavers are easier to use

The originals in my house are glass knobs and I want to replace the few levers with knobs so they all match. It would suit the house better and I like how they look. But sometimes if my hands are wet or slippery the knobs are harder to open.

Door handles are ergonomic ... user-friendly especially those with arthritic/wrist problems.

I think the glass knobs are so beautiful. Having said that, I have seen some levers that are nice too, but not the ones shown (IMHO)

I love antique glass knobs, think they are so beautiful. . . . .but, I choose the handles because children and persons with hand challenges would find them easier to use.

@bears72 I believe it's only Vancouver which has that new building code.
I have both in my house, exterior door have levers, all the rest have knobs. I like having the choice but I'd choose knobs every time.

handles for sure, especially on doors. My hands are such a mess that it is painful to try to open a sticky door that doesn't have a lever.

When we did a remodel on our house, we changed out all the antique glass knobs for levers. So much easier for my hands.

In my 60's, building a new contemporary home this year, I think levers will be easier when /if we get arthritis. Wider doors downstairs too.

If you are older or have someone disabled in the home, door handles. If you have small kids you don't want to be able to go into rooms with closed doors, knobs. You can always swap them out later.

I would like to convert all of the knobs to handles...easier to open. But the glass knob sure is pretty!

Lever handles on all exit doors and doors between rooms. But I love pretty and/or unusual knobs, so they are on closet doors and on non-latched (push) doors.

We think levers are easier to open and are more ergonomic. We like Emtek knobs and levers, they are affordable but also luxurious and made with quality materials.

Now and then, I prefer keylockers or even digital lockers, use your fingerprint to keep your stuff behind closed doors if you don't trust your wife and kids. I could never even think digital lockers could be that cool and useful. You don't have to worry about losing your keys, you can always open your door using your fingerprint, even if you your electricity will be cut off, you always can open it as a normal lock. Just find a good locksmith, I called emergency locksmith enfield to set up my lockers, as I was robbed a couple of days ago, so I need to get this thing fixed as soon as possible. Trust me, you won't regret a digital lock.
