Not sure if design dilemma or not, since this might just legit be out of my hands, but in my house (well, trailer), we live off of well water. Our water is as hard as it gets and as iron rich as possible, at 3 ppm (normal is 0.2 ppm ). Thanks to this, even steam leaves a light speckling of rust, and water instantly oxidizes to a rusty hue. Problem.

I was wanting to do something to make my bathroom feel less like a 4x4 water closet. There's no windows, as it's the only "interior" room in the house (it's surrounded by other rooms' walls), and it's about as small as you can get (around 8x5). I simply don't have the budget for anything crazy, like actual renovation work, so I figured at least a coat of a light colored paint would help... except, as said, the steam is laced with rust. I already have issues with the rust staining "drips" on the wall from just getting a shower (and that's with the fan on and minimal steam). I can just imagine how often I'd have to clean the walls if they were white or a lighter color (they're currently a cross between royal blue and sky blue).

Now, unfortunately, we don't have the money to afford a unit that could keep up without getting rusted out (trust me, I've asked around -- oh the dream of owning a white anything). Anyone else have this issue or workaround ideas? I'm desperate for some cosmetic improvements in that bathroom to open it up.
