Accent Wall

I just rented an apt that has white (offwhite really) carpet and white walls. I have a grey couch and black entertainment center. What color accent wall should i use? I am painting the wall where the entertainment center is. I am a guy in early 30s, so dont want anything too bright but something to liven the place up. Thanks!

Grey, or something earthy would add interest but not be too over the top.
