Hi! That is a very neat piece. Do you have room near your fireplace for it? You could also try it on your window seat by the built in bookshelf.

Thank you Warner Decor. Unfortunately this is New York so there is no fire place and my window seat is actually a radiator. It's a good idea though. Maybe it won't be harmful on top of a radiator?

I love the idea of an actual spiral staircase in the corner of your office going all the way to the ceiling! It could be an extension of the bookcases stacked with books going up the steps! Another concept to transform the space would be to build in wall to wall bookcases floor to the ceiling and then put in a library wall ladder. They have tracks that can go around corners too!

If your built in bookcase is a match on the other side of the window, given the arc of the stairpiece, I'd set it over there so it appeared to be a spiral stair to reach the upper bookshelves. Cool, cool, piece.

I'd use it as a plant stand - show casing varying heights of plants, adding marble shelfs to each step. Very cool piece!

hello Whitney, Sure, you place the stair front of the wall, it doesn't matter which wall or where within the wall. you'll have to figure that out since I don't have any other pics of the space. the stair is beautiful and its a functioning stair so its real. while placing it and securing it to the wall you can buy a door slab from a hardware store and install the door on your wall right above the last step as it was leading to another room. you can trim the door with casings install hardware to make it more believable that its really going somewhere. I just hope you have high ceilings that the door fits within wall space. Let me know if this helped painting a picture of what i was thinking.

I'd love it as library ladder, or plant stand but the secret door idea is awesome. Get an old salvage door and cool old looking hardware. You could even make secret storage in between the wall studs. Liquor cabinet or broom closet?
