Need help with paint

I'm painting a bedroom which wall should I make my feature wall. I would like to paint one wall dark gray & the others light gray. The room has 2 double windows & one side window. The other wall has a closet & door. The last wall is to the right of the door & has nothing on it. The drapes are dark grey with light silver swirls on them.

I usually find that the wall the bed is one is the feature or accent wall. However in my den, the accent wall is the main wall with the tv, computer and cabinets on it not the guest bed wall as it is not exactly straight and takes a little jag to the right. Too hard to figure out where to stop and start the paint.

Normally when one walks into a bedroom, the bed should be the focal point but that doesn't mean it has to be directly in front of you when entering. If you could post pics that would help immensely. Certain walls look better with a bed on them than others.

I have double doors into my bedroom and the bed is to the right on an accent colored wall. But it is farther away from the door so it looks okay, at least to me! Straight and to the left of a window is an antique wardrobe, smallish, going across the corner of two walls, so that also helps serve as a focal point because of its height.

So if you can, post some pics and I will try to help you figure it out.

I have posted the pics. The room looks awful now because we removed the old wallpaper and now we must remove the old paint and prep the room before we can paint. As you can see the room is not very large and there are a number of windows on 2 of the walls. I just would like to paint one wall darker gray to make match my new comforter and curtains. Thanks again for the help.

Hi. Thanks for the pics. Your room is fine and I am going to assume where you are standing to take the pics is the entrance doorway. I really think the bed should stay under the double window. It looks fine there. The other wall with small window would not be ideal, IMO. And that wall will look nice painted darker because you will still have plenty of light and the color would not overpower the room, since it is on the smaller side.

Do you think there is room for bedside tables with lamps?

As far as a drape or curtains, sheers would look pretty on a nice wide rod. You could possibly put a shade of some kind underneath to block out the light. Other route to take would be simple roman shades on the windows.

Get back to me and also let me know what color(s) are in your new bedding. :)

Sorry, I reread your comments and you already have drapes!

Me again! I now reread everything you wrote and I do not know how I missed you talking about your drapes. They sound very nice. And they will undoubtably look good on that wall with the double windows.

Have you already chosen the dark and lighter gray paint? Another way to pick the dark paint or both actually is to take the drapes with you to make sure they look okay. And, of course, you may have already done that!!

Thanks for all your help. I too think the wall with the double windows should be the dark grey & the other walls a light grey. I took the drapes to home depot & they matched the dark & light paint for me. I was just undecided on which wall to paint dark. I will post pics when it is all finished. Thanks again for all your help!!
