I should add, that peninsula is dividing the family room, so that's not a wall there.

That's a tough one... the sink is where? In the island? I think I'd be tempted to put the fridge where the desk is and the desk where the ovens are now and the ovens where the fridge is... but then you would need the cooktop on the island to be closer to the fridge. Where else could the fridge go? alternatively you could put them where the desk is and combine with a pantry and put the desk where they are now. I find that I don't travel between the cooktop and the oven often so it is kind of it's own triangle independently. Having a "baking surface" across from it might be handy (if that is what you would have with the island.

I agree -- put them to the right of the oven. That also means that the existing space designated as ovens will now be a bigger pantry.

my typical path to the oven is from the fridge - to a counter where I prepare whatever it is - then to the oven. That is what I'd remember for placement. good access to the counter with cookie tray on it!

One other tip - when you install, check the height carefully - we somehow managed to get our double ovens at precisely the height that makes me burn my arm on the oven door every other time. We almost never use the bottom one because it requires bending over of course. That is particularly important if you have a shortish person involved. :)

HI -- This is fairly easy ,but this depends on what you think . I use to design kitchens -- so here is what I would do . Put the ovens where you show the fridge . Expand the pantry /utility closet . Put the fridge at the end to the right of the stove moving the stove to the left a little .Put a finished gable to enclose the fridge with a cabinet above to make it look built in. Assuming the sink is on the island with the dishwasher , you do have room to have another sink /prep area ,perhaps near the wine fridge .
