The shakes are pre-dipped red cedar.

Thank you Sheldon! We are building in Virginia, working on a huge whole house reno in which our clients want cedar shingles treated with Cabot's. They've opted against the same for roofing so we are looking at photos. We've used weathered wood a LOT, clients really like the color.

The stone retaining walls are beautiful. How is the wall constructed? Are the boulders blind-mortared? Looks like the cap stones are mortared in place. I'm wondering how they'll hold up through New Hampshire winters as I am considering this same technique for a retaining wall in the Adirondacks. Very nice work, thank you for sharing.
