Will you builder be happy for you to purchase your sink from elsewhere ?! That way you would have more choice ?!

Your builder should not mind that you buy the sink elsewhere, but likely the cost of his sink is part of the entire cost of which you pay the general contractor fee percentage. Or perhaps he just likes to do business with that supplier in general. It may effect any warranty if he does not supply the sink himself. Either way, he should be amenable to what the client- you- wants.

You should get what you want. Just because the one supplier doesn't carry it doesn't mean you cant have it!

I currently have a cast iron enamel sink. Like, maybe, half the country. The finish wears down over time if you use ajax or comet. It chips if, like me, you are a klutz in the kitchen and bang things around. Plus it is the same sink everyone has had at least since I've been alive!

Your builder should be able to offer you an allowance toward the purchase of your sink. That way you can purchase it yourself from whatever vendor carries the model you want.

I do not like my white cast iron sink. What a pain to keep the stains, and marks out of it. Constant upkeep.
