Lilliputian.... our "under stairs" cloakroom is just 6ft long (1.83 m) and approx. 2 ft 6 inches wide. The door is 670 mm long and bangs into the basin - as the waste is about 520 mm "up"
from the door jamb.
The ceiling is divided into two sections, with different cornicing /details - the nicer and earlier of the two is directly above the toilet. Both ceiling heights are very low (about 2 metres at best). I can't change the footprint - side walls are solid and load bearing; rear wall is to the outside, and the height affected by the stairs above. Am thinking of retiling the floor with carrara marble hexagon (2 inch); new toilet at 600mm projection (current is 740 mm) ; install shaker wainscoting; try to put the basin pipes in the wall - the "plan B" is at least change the pipes to chrome - and reduce the handbasin to a 410 mm x 215 mm rectangle. Might hang the door the other way - fingers crossed it will clear the basin, if I move it up the wall a bit.

Am I heading in a right or wrong direction? House is an early 1930's mutt, and am keen to try to be a bit sympathetic with it..
