Where is it planted?

It doesn't appear to be plants in the ground. Or is it? Would love to know if you actually planted it in containers of some sort on the arch that quickly get covered by the vines?

The vine is actually planted in the ground. We started it from seeds in early Spring. This photo was taken in late September or early October.

it's hyacinth bean. has a real pretty flower before it goes to seed. grows really fast too
