We live on a lake and are remodeling our basement into a family room. We want to maximize our views and light by installing a 12-13' wide by 8' tall door. Our options are an Anderson 400 series sliding door with wood on the inside or a Panoramic Door from Panoramicdoors.com in white viny. (We would love an Anderson bi-fold but that's way out of budget as is the panoramic door in wood). Our question is which has a better impact on resale? Are sliders, even nice ones, considered cheap and out of date? Is vinyl a negative? What is on trend and will provide the most positive reaction for resale? Are there other options I am missing?
