How do you know you are ready to move?

We purchased our home 14 years ago. In that time we have finished the basement, remodelled the kitchen and bathrooms and put on an addition. Last year I hired a decorator and redecorated most of the house. We have spent nearly 100,000 on renos and upgrades. AND!! I still feel like I need to move. I am bored and not inspired in this house and I am really not even sure why. We have raised our boys in the house and I have gardens that are really starting to mature. We are not lacking space, most people really like our home. The layout isn't ideal but functional. My question is when do you know that you have outgrown a home or that it is time to move on or time for a change?

I did the same to one home we owned. I think I was constantly remodeling it to make me think I would like it better. One day after 10 years, I said to my husband "Do you really like this house anymore"? He said "No". I put it on the market the next day;) It sold in one day as it was so over remodeled for the neighborhood. I was thrilled! Good luck;)

HI -- If your feeling it ,then it is time to move on . But also be careful of what you wish for too. Maybe it's time to build your dream home . Then you can have an ideal and functional house . Start looking for land and at house plans or sketch out a house plan you have in mind .

There is an ancient Buddhist parable about a group of monkeys joining hands and feet to form a chain so that they could touch the moon.......they make a long chain of themselves and "reach the moon" (in other words, it looks from the ground as if they are there), reach out and touch and feel nothing.
Go out into your community, volunteer, take a class, cook a shut in a meal without being asked, in other words, , find a way to make the world a better place in some small way.
