I actually have several favorites on this site - all different styles. But for the one that is the most relaxing and invitingly informal, this is the one:

Dream bedroom; about 20x24, with 3 walls solid, one 20' wall facing south and extended out a few feet and all glass. Massive set of curtains at that end to cut off several feet if I wanted, and a set of lovely colorful cushioned lounging furniture there.

Bed a California king on platform, and built-ins on both sides with swing to side table (think one of those over bed tables) and swing over lighting, and a built in cup holder to prevent knock-over floods. At foot of bed, ceiling mount 60" TV; and the headboard padded so one can enjoy some viewing. A little between alcove to stick the remotes in so no more bedsafari's and finding out who is hatching the remote.

A bath on each side, for his and hers. Include the dressing area. Behind the headboard, past that wall, is where the laundry is so the dressing areas can bomb the laundry directly to the laundry. Serious insulation in wall so as not to disturb.

Design Schematic and Elizabeth Hurley's pictures would be just fine for color scheme for most of it.

Must have French doors to garden, not to deck. Right into small private garden. After that, everything is icing on the cake.

Nothing to do with this post, but just noticed the animated hearts on the Houzz logo, very cute! I would take either Emily's or Design Schematics bedroom !

It would be something serene and spa like...kind of like the one posted by imrem. I do want to get a bed sometime in the future ..something out of walnut and some clean upholstery for the headboard (the one we have now it's ok, but it's a cheap version made in China). I have the seating area that is almost done (sofa that has different fabrics in it -chocolate brown wool for seating and cream velvet for the back; same colors for a desk, cream color (they call it champagne) for a coffee table by orange 22, white ceramic chandelier and those twisted mango wood side tables). The walls are painted in some darker cream, but I am getting bored of them so that will be something that I need to change,,just to figure out the color.

Oh my. Had you asked me this a year ago- when building my current house- I would have given you dimensions and colors and beddings and, and and.

Well. Just the other week, we trimmed some trees and uncovered a BEAUTIFUL downtown skyline that extends, end to end, from the master (on the left wing) all the way through a middle 2nd story living space to the office. Beautiful in the day, twinkles at night. And there are certain neighborhood lights that cast some awesome shadows on the walls- leaves from trees.

So now? I'm re-thinking EVERYTHING in the master suite, including the size and placement of the bed. None of that low-profile crap that is all the rage. Heck no. I want to "see", as I fall to sleep. I have put in motorized blinds that are on a timer, so I still get my Sleeping Beauty time, too. And they open just so in the morning, so that I can see the sky.

Colors, bedding all that will come. But what a "SCREECH!" stop and evaluate moment this was. Had I spent the decor money last year? It would have been wasted.

Sometimes, it pays to wait and see.
