Beautiful stone, but green makes me think of mold

One more pic. At the time I was looking at it as a consideration for a decorative table/shelf in a dining room.

I would use this for a log cabin.

I would place it as a decorative shelf. It would look amazing as a statement piece. Unique as well.

That was one of the original plans - I have a mirrored alcove in my dining room where I was considering some sort of display shelf of this granite held up by corbels. It turned out to be more of a challenge than it was worth so I backed off the idea. But months later, my name was still pasted to the granite in their yard and I still think about it. LOL.

Looks cool, I like the shelf idea. I am thinking a small self / table that can be used to hold car keys, wallets, etc.

The shelf idea is out because I already shaved down a china cabinet to fit in the alcove instead (and the wallpaper installer did a sh*t job in the alcove because he counted on the cabinet going there) so now I have this guest bath that might be worthy of it? Maybe a new vanity with undermount sink? The walls are already green, the floor is basic white tile.

I would not ... the color combination makes me cringe.

This was the alcove - where the china cabinet is now. The piece wouldn't have fit the full width of it - would've been short 5 inches on each side.

Although I do like it, I don't think I would want to have to decorate around the colors.
I would also want it to go side to side - not 5" space on each side.

I really think it is a gorgeous stone, and I'd put it on an end table or night stand. I agree that the green has a mold vibe, so I wouldn't use it in a kitchen or probably not on a bathroom counter.

I wouldn't select this granite. There is a reason your name is still on it - months later. :(

I'm sure you can find a better looking granite.

How about using it to create a unique little table for the patio? The earthy colors make me think of the outdoors.

I agree that designing around it would be challenging. I'm fascinated that some of you get a mold vibe from the green! I never would've thought of that!

I like the idea of it for a patio table. Good call Theo Baker. That way you would not rally have to decorate around it. I do think it is a beautiful stone and I don't even like pink. The green does not remind me of mold at all. Makes me think of pictures I have seen of the aurora borealis.

I love it and would make a statement piece out of it like a table or buffet as suggested, either for outside patio maybe bar top ? or inside. I wouldn't use it for a sink top because a lot of its beauty would be lost with the sink cutout. It obviously speaks to you if you're still thinking about it month later!

HI -- No -- the pinks and greens will grow tired and I don't like it . Saw too much of the same in the 80's !

Rachel, I was gong to say "no", but when you posted the three Houzz photos I could see how it is unique and interesting. I like the granite in the first two photos but not what they have done with the rest of the rooms in those photos. The third picture I just don't get! It's framed like a piece of artwork? Odd.

no way -- there are better choices.

It appears to be a water feature in the 3rd photo. The other 2 are not my style at all. I think I'm going to 'get over it'. The granite guys are expected at my house today for another reason which is why I wanted to throw the question out there now, but I think some of you share my instincts about the color being too 80s. Interestingly, it's a rather expensive granite:

I do like making bold design choices, but I'm sure I can find another beautiful remnant for the guest bath if I choose to do it. I loved hearing everybody's input though! I've met so many people, even in the industry, who have never seen such granite!
