Which room do you...

...spend most of your time?

Post a photo of the room you spend the most time in and tell us why! I'll have to admit, it's hard for me to get out of my bedroom. :)

My den! And this is what it looks like all messy -- I had a sore throat the day I took that pic and couldn't be bother to tidy up...

It has to be the office. I work from home so work takes most of my day. No photos for now,,it's full of stacks of paper that need to be burned (don't like shredding) and I can't burn them until the snow melts from the fire-pit, and magazines that sit next to me until I have time to read them (love my English Garden magazine, LandLove and Landscape)

If I'm not working ON that room, then it would have to be my office corner or the bedroom. I'd say the most time is actually in the bedroom, sleeping. A favorite nook is the RMH bench, tending the firehole and tapping on the laptop.

We spend a lot of our time in the bedroom. We have beautiful spaces in our home but we tend to gravitate to the bedroom because it has everything in it, one side is the bedroom and the other side is the living area we created. We each have antique secretaries if we like to do work and if not we have the firepalace which makes it a very cozy room. So for us we feel quite happy in this room.

The kitchen, for sure. When you have an open-plan home, it's easy for everyone to gather at the counter for homework, dinner and important talks. It's where the food is at and where all the magic happens (as they used to say on MTV Cribs, ha!)

My inside time is pretty equally divided among the rooms in our house (its not a very big house) Both husband and I love to cook so we are both frequently in the kitchen, then dining room to eat, we have afternoon coffee in the sunroom, evening glass of wine in our library in front of the fire, he watches TV a bit in the living room while I do computer work in our office. The guest room houses our treadmill/exercise area and of course the master bedroom for sleeping. When we designed/built the house we carefully considered our lifestyle and only built what we really would use. Recently we turned one of our garage bays that had originally been constructed for our former silkscreen business into our wine production lab....it has leather club chairs, a TV and wines in process (12 different varieties right now) so we also spend alot of time out there.
Then in the spring/summer/fall we are outside so much more caring for our small farm with animals, vegetable garden and orchard....the house get neglected a bit then, but can't be helped. I would have to conclude that my entire property is my favorite room, how to choose? every inch of it is lovely!

I LOVE my kitchen. It is functional but beautiful. Hidden on the sink side of the island is the wine cooler and microwave. And there is even a corner with arm chairs for guests to sit and have a glass of wine while I finish preparing dinner.

Right now that room would be the dining room because all the other rooms are ripped apart for renovations. When the new house is built I suspect I will spend the majority of my time in my art studio…..the remainder of the time will be the open kitchen/livingroom.

Our family room. the big screen tv is in there, also Where I like to curl up with my throw and read.

No doubt about it, our cozy family room, especially in the winter. Have our gas fireplace on daily. Open to the kitchen, so nice and toasty.
We spend most of our time in the main floor family room which is rather small but has a fireplace with gas burning logs, a ample size flat screen TV and surround sound. It is a bit rustic with loads of throws for the winter and opens up to the deck - which is an added perk for the summer.

Sorry but I have to post one more fav room - my new master bath. Wish I could get all the "coolness" of this spa bathroom in one picture, but not possible.

My kitchen, because it's wide open and bright. My entire view is north-facing, so every little bit of sunlight is appreciated!

Great Room - kitchen/dining/TV room. And the backyard (here in Southern Calif, I can sit outside year-round).

The bedroom :) We house share so when we want time away from others, we retreat. The red has such a warm feeling on cold winter nights in MN. With solar hot air panels on the exterior wall of the bedroom, we get huge amounts of heat in this space during the day, too. The large windows on the right provide a beautiful view of trees in the yard, but we're right on the street so we added shades the pull upward.

This is our favorite spot, winter and summer. In winter, when leaves are off the trees, the room heats ten to twenty degrees more than the outside temp. Mylar screens are in windows in winter, screens are in windows for summer. The polycarbonate roof is sheltered by trees in mild times and open to light all winter. A vent-free fireplace evens out the temperature when outside temps are bitter. Love the light.

Your bedroom is lovely Jeannie! I cannot be in my bedroom during the daytime.....I find it depressing (I'm just weird like that). Most of my time is spent in the main living area, although I do spend several hours a day in the kitchen. In spring and fall, we are outside a lot -- have a nice east-facing front porch and currently redoing the back covered patio.

I spend most of my morning time in my craft room ... I love to stay here and work on some projects ...

Malia, my schnauzer and I spend most of our time in the main room. It got dubbed that because that is where everything is...my desk, the living area, the dining table, the view out the back door and kitchen near by. That was the open concept that I wanted when I bought this house and remodeled it. I spend a lot of time at my desk, so I wanted to be in a room that was the most open and visually appealing. Therefore, a view out the backdoor was a must, along with my décor. I shift a lot from the desk, to the couch to the table throughout the day so it has been perfect for me.

@jlinvill.......... wish I could put your bathroom picture in my idea book. I love the way you have put the mosaic accent tiles at the top of your shower. Beautiful!

I am working on my master bath remodel design and would love to show your pic to my Contractor!

We live in our kitchen and living room when guests are over. It's a great open space for entertaining and my husband LOVES to cook but, our bedroom is where we spend our weekends. The charcoal walls makes it feel like a cozy cocoon for those cold winter days.

Ha. No way. That's why it's my favorite room bc I am totally relaxed in it.

My den and kitchen! They are completely open to each other! I can cook, eat, and watch tv from the kitchen. The den is a two story room, and the staircase is in the den instead of the living room. I'm on the computer (evidence in the picture), either watching tv, listening to my Bose radio/CD player, or reading. In the winter, the vase goes in the corner and the fireplace is on (right now it's sleeting outside, so it is on!!). I love the kitchen pass through when I'm entertaining because it's open to the dining room. I can talk to guests in the LR/DR.

The family room also for me - at the end of my kitchen. Like so many others, it's messy and under renovations. I believe the room we live in the most should also look the best, so I truly have something to strive for!
