HI - Most people have trouble with vaulted rooms . I like a stronger color in a vaulted room and even taking the same color onto the ceiling . What you hang on the walls depends on what the items are and the style of the room and furnishings . Lots of small things just make a cluttered look . And just because the items are of sentimental worth , doesn't mean they all need to be displayed everywhere or all at once. Bigger walls means bigger items and fewer . Mostly you should just concern yourself with up to the 8 or 9 foot level , what's left over is just there . Also items for the wall should relate some what . Those ledges also are a problem in knowing what to do with them . This again depends on the rooms style. I usually suggest just one big long item. Big outdoor sculptures are good for ledges in not needing to be dusted very often and not showing dust and spider webs and fluff. Designtoscana.com is a good source . The shelves I can see now need to be edited -- too many small items on each shelf and there are too many shelves . If you could take out every other one that would look better. I would paint the fireplace section a darker color than the walls . Lots of ideas on Houzz for rooms like this to refer to .
