Remember a lot of the cheaper Viking appliances are made by GE. If this is going to be your forever house eventually, buy exactly what you like now. If you're happy with it as a weekend home you'll love it in retirement.

In the 3 intervening years, I'm sure they have long since selected their appliances and they are now out of warranty.

But in the interests of correcting inaccurate information that someone felt the need to resurrect this 3 year old thread to disseminate.....Haier now owns GE rather than still being General Electric owned, and Middleby owns Viking. In neither incarnation have they made appliances for Viking. If they had, Viking would have a much better reputation. GE actually rates very well for cooking appliances.
