May I ask how tall your ceilings are (like to the bottom of the beam AND to the very top of the peak??

Thank you Pam. The ceiling is 23 feet, and it's 13' 6" to the bottom (underside) of the truss.

Thank you! It's flat rolled steel that has been oxidized, and covered with angle iron on the corners. Have a look in the comments section and there are a few photos I used from other HOUZZ files that inspired us.

Thank you for the info on the lights. It looks like the electrical wire which may be clear comes down from the ceiling and goes through the metal sleeve to the light. Am I correct? Is the sleeve about 36 inches long? thanks very much.

Yes, that is correct. Although I want to add that the sleeves are linked to chains and the wire runs up the chains to the ceiling.

Thank you Carolyn….Also, do you find heating and cooling more expensive with the wonderfully soaring ceilings? I just love your home and hope to do something similar one day, but I wonder about heating and cooling the space. thanks again (this time in advance)

We have 2 ceiling fans (you can see one in the top centre of this picture) that run constantly and circulate the warm air that rises. And the roof is well insulated with spray foam, so no, it's not too tough or expensive to heat or cool. We get more heat loss from the sliding glass door (so we use an accordion cellulose pull-across blind as a thermal barrier on the cold days.)
