A succulent that is property taken care of should last from 2-5 years. The most important thing is to not over-water a succulent. In fact, a good way to water is to take a small ice-cube and place it at the succulents stem. This is a good slow water system. In most climates succulents only need to be watered every 10-14 days. They need lots of natural light, however; you should minimize the amount of direct sunlight, especially in the summer months. A good way to remove dust and other air borne particles from the plants, is to take a hair dryer, put it on low speed and the coolest temperature setting and gently blow clean your plants.
