Usually the tub / shower faucet goes on the same side as the sink and the toilet because the plumbing is all on one side. Since yours can go either way, you need to think about how you use the tub / shower. If you like to take baths, it would probably be easier to sit with your head away from the toilet / sink side, so you would want your plumbing on the same side as the toilet and sink........If you take showers rather then baths, it might be easier to reach the faucet if it were on the other wall.

I personally prefer to have all of the plumbing lined up on the one wall.

Regarding the shower curtain question, I have no answer. I have pondered this same question and shifted my shower curtains around all the time......I still haven't figured out the answer, and I don't think it matters too much............

I agree, there is no right or wrong on the shower curtain. I just keep mine where I like it the best. In one of my bathrooms I keep it open to the fixtures, in another bathroom I keep it open to the wall. Just depends on the room. I do not like a room where the shower curtain is kept closed though...something about horror films and people hiding in the shower.
