I'm trying to decide at what height the pencil liner and the second tile should start? How did you make this decision? It looks like the height in the shower is kind of low....7 feet? So is the pencil liner at 4 feet off the ground? I like your proportions, I'm just wondering what the thinking was behind it.

In this case, I wanted to be above the bottom of the mirror and the built-in but below the wall switches that were next to the bathroom door. I usually don't split a wall in half with a wainscot cap or chair rail. Other than that, I let other factors guide the proportions. Does that help? Monica Miller, J.S. Brown & Co.
