Hi stuntchick. I see that you corrected your typo.. If you want to correct, there is any easier way. After you post a comment and find that you want to change it, you can mouse over that comment ... at the upper right corner of the comment box, are 2 icons. I think it would go great with the right colored accessories (silver, gray). I don't like the pillows currently paired with the sofa. In the right room, this sofa will be gorgeous. The wall should also be a different color. I like the comments about wallpaper options by Chemayne. If you LOVE it, you should get it. It can work with the right accessories and color pairings.

The sofa can work. Is this the room it goes in? If so the wall color is fighting the sofa. Paint a soft gray. Use silver as a accent in lamps and pillows. It's very formal so stay in that look. Mirrored coffee table and end tables will work. Other furn should be in the dark grays in a print with a touch of purple. Over sofa a big 5 ft long mirror in silver frame hang 7 " from top.

Didn't know this was a show room. There is a buyer for everything.

Sorry I found this so late. I have a sofa very similar to the one pictured, but it has no tufting and it has a curved back. Mine is microfiber but looks and feels like velvet. Very easy to clean. I've had it for 13 years and am no way even near being "tired of it". I think if you love something, you will not get tired of it. The house I had it in previously had very pale lavender walls. When the contractor was painting all the colors I told him to paint, he cringed and thought it would be horrible until he saw it finished. He brought people over to show them my house as an example of his work, that's how good it was. Anyway, that room had dark hard wood floors, lavender walls, and artwork in shades of blue and green. I really wish I had a photo of it still. Also, leopard rug in front of sofa. The walls of the house the sofa is in now, are all neutrals. Sand walls and tile floor with a rug in front of the sofa in peacock blue with peacock feathers. Dark window coverings and a lot of dark furniture. Peacock blue and leopard pillows on the sofa. I didn't read all the comments so I don't know if you've finished this project or not, but good luck. I agree that the wall in the picture does not look good with the sofa.

i would love to see pictures of your sofa in both spaces if you have them.

unfortunately my husband wasn't on board with the purple ;) but maybe one day when we have a larger house with an extra room.

If you like it, go for it! Personally, I prefer a white sofa, so much easier to decorate the room.

Maybe do a safer "beige" or grey color on the sofa (easier to clean than white) and then accent with colorful pillows....I love Chesterfield sofas!!

I have been trying for a year to get my other half to agree to a Chesterfield, he loves ultra contemporary stuff, we finally compromised on a traditional button tufted sofa with straight arms :(

awwwww i can so relate !! of course trying to convince my husband to get a purple sofa was a whole other challenge ;)) well i lost that battle ;))
how about a more contemporary diamond tufted style for you? our roxy style is so much fun, and for sure less traditional for your contemporary other half ;)

We have a white chair with tufting and it looks a bit dingy. I wouldn't get a white sofa, and I don't have a cat!

Love jewel toned velvet. In fact I'm ordering a teal or navy blue velvet sofa for my next house. That purpple is pretty fantastic, but I'd probably go with something not quite so saturated.

Oh I love the darker blue sofa you posted above, except for those legs. I think those legs could date it quickly.

Personally, I think the shade of purple is a BIT too dark for my taste but that's just me.

Sofa could be really fun but does not go with the current wall color.

Purple will work in the right room. It's a formal color. I like it with mirrored furn. Crystal, silver accessories. Other furn should be in gray silver and black. It can be stunning.

I did a purple house! Yes that's right ...we do what our clients want! I used all sorts of purples and brought in a few greens and pinks and even corals...with a little yellow. The client used this home with all the fixins for nearly 8 years and then we transferred the items to the next house an updated her still using some of the items she had in her other home. It was light and airy with hints of punch and pop!

Monarch Sofas... I skimmed this thread and did not catch if you've chosen a sofa color yet? I love the purple, and I'm still contemplating that color in our room addition. The blue you like is also lovely. You could do so many things with other colors in combination with that subdued blue. Your original white would be beautiful with any color scheme, so you could go crazy with changing decor on a regular basis. ; )
You can always get yourself a good, light-weight upholstery cleaner and all the cats' and kids' fun moments would not even be noticed. : )

This is our Nomad DOT sofa. Online it Said Bordeaux but when we Got it its more purple. It was a bit of a Schok but I Got some good tips to make it fit Nicely.

Personally I love apricot and plum; i think they are opposite on the color wheel so they can make each other better......and if you think you love the purple sofa then I think you need to visualize what else you want to go with it in the room and then make a decision based on that vision......
